When deciding on springs, it’s important to take into account how frequently you will be using your door since these springs help counterbalance the door. The “cheaper” the spring, the less likely it’ll last which could cause future headaches. Two options for springs would include standard springs and high cycle springs.

According to our friends at Garage Door Guide, “High cycle springs have an IPPT (Inch Pounds Per Turn) rating the same as standard springs, but with far more coils storing the same amount of tension. This allows them to last up to 5 times longer than standard spring”. 

Garage Door Motors

Now normally the garage doors we’ve already mentioned meet most homeowner’s needs, custom garage doors are available for those who have unique requirements or wishes. When planning a custom garage door, make sure to consider the following: 

1. The dimensions of your vehicles.
